    • The Rooms is the newest and premier museum / art gallery in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and its located in St. John's.

    There are gallaries that represent different people in the province. The exhibit on Innu Culture I thought was extensive and well done.

    The architechure of the facility must be the most unique in the province as well. Like every destination you have an art gallery you must visit. This would be Newfoundland and Labrador's!

    • St. John's is the capital of Newfoundland and Labrador and the provincial House of Assembly is located there.

    Newfoundland and Labrador has a colourful political history and will continue I am sure. If you are in St. John's it is worth checking to see if the house is in session.

    If so it is free and you can join the public galleries. It would take about an hour one afternoon to watch the question period.

    If is fun and gives you a up close and personal look at what the socio-political issues are in the province.

    • Fort Amherst is located on the opposite side of the downtown area right out on the narrows.

    Pay close attention to the signs and it is best to park where the city asks you to. Trust them!!

    I really enjoyed the view over there. Look at the sea gull in this picture and the unique houses on the opposite side of the narrows!

    • The St. John's downtown area is a great place to walk around and enjoy yourself. Water Street contains lots of places to eat, drink and shop!

    • Duckworth Street is one street up from Water Street and another great street to walk and find unique places to shop, eat and drink!

    • Sandwiched in betwen Water Street and Duckworth is George Street. Another great place to stroll. This street has the highest concentration of pubs and bars and places to eat. Not much else to buy on George Street other than food and drink.

    But take it in on a nice sunny day or late evening when it is buzzing with activity.

    • After you have taken in Water, Duckworth and George Street, wonder on down to the Water Front and you will find lots of fishing boats, concession stands in the summer season and larger boats ranging from tankers to cruise ships!

    You really get an atlantic feeling down in this area.

    • 1000 of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians died in the war.

    While in the water street area you should pay a visit to the memorial in thier honor.

    • The main university in Newfoundland and Labrador is Memorial University.

    There is a food court at the university, cheap rooms available and a bar called the Breeze Way. For more information on this and possibly studying in Newfoundland and Labrador visit the web site address provide.

     Jiffy Cab doesn't go to the airport. City Wide has an exclusive contract there.
