Thompson, Manitoba - The True North!

by rmdw - last update: Jul 7, 2003

The town of Thompson and Inco's operations
Thompson is about an 8 hours drive north of Winnipeg. It exists because of a huge nickel deposit that was discovered there and has been mined by Inco Limited since the late 1950's. My software company has done a lot of work for Inco. Thompson is a bit isolated for many people but has some absolutely wonderful people!
Inco Operations, Thompson
Shown here are the main operations of Inco Limited. In the center is the general office, on the left is the smelter, and on the right is the T-1 headframe.
