In addition to the fun/strange Deals Only, Bellingham also has a Grocery Outlet, Sunshine Liquidators, Big Lots, several Dollar Stores, and the very yummy Bargainica. Bargainica is related to a local organic grocer called, surprise, Terra Organica. Bellis Fair is a shopping mall located off of 1-5 about a 15 minute drive south of the border. It's actually a mall with a large Canadian customer base, as its close proximity to Canada means that many Canadians will drive down and shop there when exchange rates are favourable as merchandise is often cheaper and it will Of course, when exchange rates are not, Bellis Fair can suffer. Bellis Fair is a decent size. It's all on one level connecting to various department stores such as JC Penney, Macy's, Kohl's, Target, Sears, and even the Japanese import "everything for $2" Daiso. There are also the typical retail shops such as The Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Hot Topic.
As much or as little as you wish. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: 1 Bellis Fair Parkway, Bellingham, WA 98226Phone: (360) 671-5895Directions: When in Bellingham take exit 256-B from I-5. Bellingham is the land of discount stores. It's not as gross as it sounds, you can actually find a lot of great ethnic, vegetarian and organic items for cheap. Deals Only is the queen of discount here, carrying loads of dry goods and canned/jarred items as well as home decor and clothing. Some people would probably like to keep the store a secret, but I think everyone deserves a good deal.
Look for great prices on cereal, energy bars, sauces and soups. My favorites are boxed organic meals like risotto, pasta, pilaf etc.
You can get a month's worth of dry goods for around $20 or even less. Leave a Comment Theme: Discount StoreAddress: 2331 James StreetDirections: Follow James Street out of downtown and it's just before the Red Apple across the street.

Winner of Best Women's Clothing Shop 2004, Sojourn is a sweet litlle shop that offers unique clothes from labels that fit in a style that I would compare to Anthropologie. They also have a great selection of postcards (sorry not touristy Bellingham postcards, just artsy funny ones).
Their inventory is always changing, so there are always new treasures to discover.
This is certainly not discount shopping, but it's not overly expensive. You'd be getting a great deal for unique clothing that you will feel special wearing. And they do have sale racks. Leave a Comment Theme: Women's ClothesAddress: 1317 Railroad Ave.Directions: DowntownWebsite: 360-671-5704

Village Books can be found in the heart of Old Fairhaven and is worth a look. Three stories of new and used books, fabulous staff recommendations and knowledgeable employees make Village Books the special place that it is. Choose a book and enjoy a delicious cup of joe upstairs in the cafe, which overlooks the village green and Bellingham Bay. The view itself is worth a look.
Books! More books! Support a local business that gives so much back to the community. Village Books has a great atmosphere. Go there! Do not pass go!
Warning... bookstores can be dangerous to your wallet! There are used books downstairs and the upper floors sell new books. Buy some books, it's inevitable.
